The centrepiece on the island is Eyot House, a Grade II listed Victorian private property, currently being completely renovated, with 13 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 20 purpose-built moorings which makes quite the impression on its fantastically named D'Oyly Carte Island.
This idyllic island is further enhanced with a rich history of music and hospitality dating back to 1890 when Gilbert & Sullivan regularly visited the island to play intimate concerts for their host, Richard D’Oyly Carte and their guests (D'Oyly Carte Music)
In the 1890’s Sir Arthur Gilbert, Sir William Sullivan and Richard D’Oyly Carte were as famous, talented and celebrated as Adel, Ed Sheeran and Simon Cowell are today!
