Summer Concerts 2026

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • There are 2 free public car parks on either side of the river, on the footbridge. Both are a short distance to the footbridge along the river towpath. We have asked the Council if we can use a large grass area around one of their car parks for extra parking and are awaiting their reply. There are no parking restrictions on the roads close to the island.

  • We work with a very experienced local operator who provides all food, drink, and staff for the Summer Concerts. To support this local business and its team, we kindly ask guests not to bring their own food or drink, and to thank the staff for their service.

  • Whilst we love dogs and welcome them on leads to D’Oyly’s, we do ask that visitors not to bring dogs to the summer concerts.

  • The summer concerts are not seated, and in the past, people have either brought their own foldable picnic seats or brought blankets to sit on the grass. We do provide 50 foldaway seats that are free to use on a first-come, first-served basis. We ask people to leave these for the slightly older guests who may enjoy them more.

  • Yes, we serve vegan food.

  • Yes, we serve gluten‑free food.

  • We have had several guests over 90 years old who have used the footbridge to join us on the island. There are steps to get over the footbridge, but they are quite shallow and manageable.

  • Whilst we don’t recommend wheelchairs come onto the island, people have carried wheelchair users up and down the footbridge stairs. Once on the island, we are quite wheelchair friendly.
